About the event
Join us for a special behind-the-scenes visit to the University of Manitoba Zoology Collection on Thursday, May 15. We will meet at the Louis Riel statue near Migizii Agamik - The Bald Eagle Lodge at 11:50 AM and walk together to the collection, keeping an eye out for birds along the way. Once there, Dr. Emily McKinnon will guide us through the bird skin collection and lead a live demonstration on bird skin preparation. This is a rare opportunity to explore a scientific collection that is not typically open to the public, learn about how preserved bird specimens support research and education, and engage with others who care about nature and conservation.
This event is intended for UM students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
